August Reading Wrap Up

I’ve got three really good books to share with you today! One was so good it was a re-read, and the other two were shocking thrillers with some surprising twists.

Verity by Colleen Hoover

I read this book back in 2019, and I remembered how much I loved it so I wanted to read it again!

Forget everything you know about Colleen Hoover’s other books. Unlike her other books, this isn’t a romance/love story book. This book is crazy and probably my most favorite thriller I’ve ever read. And I’ve read hundreds of thrillers.

Verity Crawford is a writer, but a tragic accident leaves her unable to write and finish the book series that she has been working on. Her husband hires a young writer, Lowen Ashleigh, to finish the series. Lowen spends days and nights at their home researching and going through all of Verity’s notes and outlines while Verity is upstairs and unable to move or interact with anyone. She comes across a shocking manuscript, with secrets that would devastate Verity’s husband. As Lowen and Jeremy eventually fall in love, she wonders if she should show him or if she should keep all of the secrets to herself.

Just read it!!!

The Secrets Of Us by Lucinda Berry

I have read five or six other books by Lucinda Berry, and I’ve loved all of them, so I wanted to read this one because it had a good rating on Goodreads.

This book was about two foster sisters, Krystal and Nichole, who were always there for each other as children and now as adults. When Nichole attempts to kill her husband and is committed to a psychiatric hospital, Krystal knows she has to be there for her and help her. Nichole is out of her mind, swearing the man she tried to kill was not her husband. As Krystal is searching for answers, she is confronted with the sisters’ dark past and the secrets they have been keeping all these years.

The Flight Attendant by Chris Bohjalian

Cassandra Bowden is a hot mess. She goes on adventures with her job as a flight attendant, and is no stranger to binge drinking and blacking out. During a visit to Dubai, she wakes up in a hotel room next to a man who was murdered while she slept. With no recollection of the night before, she decides to lie to the other flight attendants about where she was, and leaves without a trace. The news of the murder soon catches up to her and she wonders if she was responsible for the murder, and if she didn’t murder him, who did?

Ok, so that’s it for my little mini book reviews! Have you read any of these?

What have you been reading?

xx
