What’s In My Cabinet? Skin and Hair Care FAVES

Hello! Today I wanted to share the best of the best skincare and haircare products that I swear by. If it makes it into my vanity cabinet, you know its a real one! I just love reading these types of posts where I get to be nosy and see what other people are hoarding. I figured you would like it too!

Lets start on the bottom shelf.

First up, the Not Your Mother’s Texturizing Beach Babe Sea Salt Spray. Whew! Long name. I just call it my beachy spray. This stuff is the best texturizing spray. It smells so good, and the nozzle on the spray is really nice at distributing the product. This gives my hair kind of an undone look. Sometimes I don’t want a perfect curl, I just want waves. This dries down matte, so it doesn’t look crunchy or greasy. I use it on dry hair and then kind of scrunch. It’s also only $5!

Next up, my favorite hairspray/heat protectant. This is the Paul Mitchell Hot Off The Press. This is another product that I use on dry hair. I spray this in after blow-drying, but before styling, and brush it through. Not only does it protect from heat, but it keeps my curls or waves intact. You can also spray it in after you curl. The smell is not overpowering, and a little bit goes a long way.

This JVN Complete Air Dry Cream is perhaps my favorite hair product of all time. The smell alone is perfection. My 12 year old daughter Allie has thick wavy hair and she LOVES this. We are both obsessed with the smell. I use this more on her than me, because she doesn’t heat style her hair. We put about a dime sized amount of cream in her hair after she washes it, and we work it through the hair, from root to tip. When I tell you, she wakes up in the morning without frizz, trust. It makes her hair soft and she has smooth, defined waves. Game changer.

My girls and I always use some type of leave-in spray after we wash our hair, and the Kenra Platinum Blow Dry Spray and the Pantene Miracle Ten in One are our favorites. They both detangle, protect from heat, leave hair smooth, yada, yada, yada. The Kenra one even cuts down on blow-drying time.

I have a few hair oils, but this Moroccan Oil one takes the cake on smell alone. Their products smell heavenly to me. This oil feels lightweight in my hair and doesn’t weigh it down. A little bit on my ends before blow-drying, and I’m good to go. No more dry hair.

Secret Unscented Deodorant– yep, nothing to see here. I always go for unscented deodorant because I don’t like it to clash with my perfume. This one works good for me.

Alright, time for middle shelf.

First up is this Innisfree Pore Clearing Clay Mask. This is exactly what it says, it is a clay mask that you apply to dry skin and let sit for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, exfoliate with a washcloth and then remove. This is great for clogged pores and really makes my skin feel fresh and clean after.

Next is the Laneige Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer. This is what I use as my daytime moisturizer. It feels light, doesn’t have a strong fragrance, and really helps to hydrate my dry skin.

I also use this oil in the morning, the Biossance Squalane+Vitamin C Rose Oil. This is good for brightening the skin and leaving a healthy glow. This makes my skin feel so good and hydrated.

Once a week at night, I like to use this Youth To The People Superberry Hydrate + Glow Mask. This is a thicker cream that I use when I feel like my skin is extra dry, I apply a little bit before I go to bed and wake up with plump and hydrated skin.

For eye cream, I am using the Glow Recipe Guava Vitamin C Bright Eye Gel Cream. I apply this around my eyes in the morning, and it feels so nice and makes my concealer go on perfectly smooth. It also has vitamin c, so it is great for brightening.

Lastly, my Visine. Sometimes my eyes are red in the morning if I’ve had drinks the night before or if I didn’t get enough sleep. These eye drops feel refreshing and take away the redness.

We’ve made it to the top shelf. I hope you’re still with me!

The Colorwow Dream Coat is super popular, and for good reason! I spray a liberal amount of this product on my hair after washing, and it coats the hair and makes it SO SMOOTH. It is heat activated, so I blow dry my hair after and it really smoothes my hair. No frizz in sight.

My second favorite hair oil, the Verb Ghost Oil. Like the Moroccan Oil, it really smoothes the ends and hydrates my hair. I also use this on wet hair. It smells good and a little bit goes a long way.

Next up, the Bubble Deep Dive AHA-PHA Exfoliating Mask. I LOVE this mask. This is supposed to be a dupe for the Drunk Elephant Babyfacial. While I have not tried the DE one (its $80!) I do really like this one. This is a chemical exfoliant that I apply to my skin once a week, and leave on for 10-15 min. It does kind of tingle, but the results are worth it. My skin is super soft and clean after using it.

Lastly for skincare, the Cerave Resurfacing Retinol Serum. I apply this to my skin at night only, and it helps with fine lines and wrinkles. I am almost 39, so wrinkles and fine lines are showing up! My dermatologist recommends this retinol product. I have tried other retinols, and this one does not dry my skin out like others have in the past.

Ok, we’ve made it to the end! I hope you liked hearing about all of my favorite products.

What are your skin and hair care must haves?

Thanks for reading!xx

  1. I think I need to get an OTC retinol b/c my prescription tretinoin can be too harsh in the winter. Gotta fight those wrinkles!!😆

  2. […] Your Mother’s Texturizing Beach Babe Sea Salt Spray. I recently mentioned this product in my What’s in My Cabinet post. This is a texture spray that I spray on dry hair after curling, and it just gives a wavy, beach […]
