My girls are HUGE Harry Potter fans. When they were younger, I would read the books to them at night and they’ve read the whole series multiple times. They’ve also seen all of the movies multiple times! They know everything there is to know about the series.
You may not know this, but July 31 is Harry Potter Day. In the books, it was Harry’s 11th birthday on July 31st when he got his letter to Hogwarts. We decided to have a Harry Potter Day of our own a few weeks ago and it was a hit with the girls. We watched a few of the movies, did Harry Potter drawings, played Harry Potter Trivial Pursuit (the girls do not miss a single question!) and made Harry Potter themed SNACKS!
Harry Potter Day is next week, so you still have time to have a party of your own! Here are the snacks we put together.

We took pretzel rods and dipped half of them into melted chocolate and then drizzled chocolate on the other half. These are magic wands! “Olivander’s Wand Shop”.

Here we have some jelly beans which we named “Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans”.
We stuck pretzels into upside down miniature Reese’s cups, and those were “Broomsticks”.

Now, for each of the houses.
I couldn’t think of anything for Gryffindor, so we went the healthy route with Gryffindor grapes.
For Hufflepuff, we did some Pirates Booty cheese puffs.
For Slytherin, we did gummy snakes.
For Ravenclaw we did Bugles because they look like little claws!
Harry Potter Day would not be complete without Butterbeer! Butterbeer is usually made with butterscotch syrup, but I couldn’t find any in my neck of the woods, so I used caramel syrup instead.
What you need:
- caramel syrup
- heavy whipping cream
- cream soda
- whipped cream to top
Drizzle caramel in the inside of your glass, and then add 1 tbsp of heavy whipping cream to the bottom of the cup. Fill the cup almost to the top with cream soda, and stir. Top with whipped cream and more caramel drizzle.
Voila! Butterbeer. I served them in beer mugs and the girls LOVED it!

Do you like Harry Potter?
thanks for reading! xx
