I am so excited to make this post. I love reading, and if you know this blog, you know that thriller/mysteries are my fave! Here are the best ones I read this year.
1. The Housemaid by Freida McFadden

This series was my favorite of the year! I read this one early in the year, and then later on in the year the sequel came out, and I devoured that one as well.
This book is a shocking thriller about an ex-convict named Millie who lands a job as a maid for a very wealthy family. The mother, Nina, struggles with mental health issues and Millie is having a very hard time with dealing with their daughter, Cecilia. Millie dives deeper into Nina’s past, and finds very troubling information.
2. The Housemaid’s Secret by Freida McFadden

This book still follows Millie, and without giving too much away, she is still working for wealthy clients without them knowing her felon past.
3. The Perfect Child by Lucinda Berry

Hannah and Christopher are a happily married couple who work at a hospital together. One day, an abandoned 6 year old little girl named Janie shows up. Christopher and Hannah have always wanted to have children, and Janie instantly forms a bond with Christopher, so they decide to adopt her. Hannah starts to realize Janie’s erratic behavior and angry tantrums are always directed at her, as she cannot bond with Janie. Christopher does not see that side of Janie and he doubts Hannah’s feelings. They soon find out the truth about Janie’s past, and it may be enough to break up their family.
4. The Flight Attendant by Chris Bohjalian

Cassandra Bowden is a hot mess. She goes on adventures with her job as a flight attendant, and is no stranger to binge drinking and blacking out. During a visit to Dubai, she wakes up in a hotel room next to a man who was murdered while she slept. With no recollection of the night before, she decides to lie to the other flight attendants about where she was, and leaves without a trace. The news of the murder soon catches up to her and she wonders if she was responsible for the murder, and if she didn’t murder him, who did?
5. Thick As Thieves by Sandra Brown

Twenty years ago, four people pulled off the biggest heist in their small town’s history. One ended up in the hospital, one was in jail, one was dead, and one got away with it. A girl named Arden Maxwell who’s father presumably was the one who got away with it, and the half a million dollars. Arden never got over the fact that her father abandoned her and her sister all those years ago. She goes back to the small town searching for answers and finds out people are watching her every move.
